And some bad news…

An email from a non-Tulane affiliated crime report service:

Dear Hurstville Neighbors:

Yesterday around 6:25 pm an aggravated assault occurred on S. Saratoga and Joseph Street. An African American male wearing a hoodie approached a woman with a knife. She screamed and both fled. The HSD security supervisor has beefed up patrols in the area.

In separate incidents in the neighboring area, two reports of a group of 10 young males on bikes accosting two people have been reported. One near Robert and Baronne and another in the area near CVS on Prytania. The Twinbrook officers are on high alert and other neighboring patrols and residents have been notified as well.

Any suspicious activity or individuals should be called into 911 immediately. Please take all precautions and use the HSD patrol escorts whenever possible.

The number for our Hustville patrol off-duty NOPD officers is 432-8818.

 Sincerely,

Hurstville Security and Neighborhood Improvement District

About It's Not Enough

We are Tulane students who appreciate the effort TUPD gives to protect us, but believe that it is inadequate. Given the amount of assaults, robberies, burglaries and other types of crime that surrounds the Tulane Campus, we need more from TUPD. Simply put, it's not enough.
